Q magazine in the latest edition (January 13 ) and in the round up of top films and music has named Last Shop Standing as one of their top 10 DVD’s of 2012: this is really fantastic news and comes off their great review and 5 stars out of 5 for the film in October.
The film continues to attract sell out screenings across the UK and overseas and is selling well on DVD.
Italian video interview for Glob TV
Graham Jones author of Last Shop Standing and lead contributor in the film talks to Italian TV here about the film
It’s been really satisfying to be out and about at film screenings and being involved in the QA afterwards
Some great questions about the film, the record industry and certain characters in the film.
Some have been really insightful about other areas that have affected record shops: rising rates and rents / the offshore VAT in balance that now has been shelved: The increase in record fairs / the move away from CD toward Vinyl and download:
One of the great joys of making films is how they connect you the film maker with your audiences and QA’s are by the far the best place where that happens.
Check out the screenings to see if there is one near you coming up: it will be worth it..
sell out screenings and international interest
We had 2 sell out screenings in Birmingham recently which was very satisfying!!
The film continues to be very well received by all the audiences and those who have bought it on DVD and is continuing to get booked for cinema screenings which is really great.
We are also in talks with many countries about the film being released: its now available in Australia and will be soon in Italy as well as across many other European countries: We are also confident now there will be a major release in the USA spring next year.
As ever the way our film will gain wider interest is by all of our fans and supporters telling people about it so please continue to do that:

Brilliant to have a sold out screening in Birmingham last night at the UK’s oldest cinema, The Electric…
Great response to the film from the crowd, laughter and solemn silence at times! and a really good QA which included the wonderful Jimmy from the legendary record store The Diskery.
Loads of screenings coming up in the next few weeks so here’s hoping for lots of sold out events.
