Q magazine in the latest edition (January 13 ) and in the round up of top films and music has named Last Shop Standing as one of their top 10 DVD’s of 2012: this is really fantastic news and comes off their great review and 5 stars out of 5 for the film in October.

The film continues to attract sell out screenings across the UK and overseas and is selling well on DVD.

It’s been really satisfying to be out and about at film screenings and being involved in the QA afterwards

Some great questions about the film, the record industry and certain characters in the film.

Some have been really insightful about other areas that have affected record shops: rising rates and rents  / the offshore  VAT in balance that now has been shelved: The increase in record fairs / the move away from CD toward Vinyl and download:

One of the great joys of making films is how they connect you the film maker with your audiences and QA’s are by the far the best place where that happens.

Check out the screenings to see if there is one near you coming up: it will be worth it..

We had 2 sell out screenings in Birmingham recently which was very satisfying!!
The film continues to be very well received by all the audiences and those who have bought it on DVD and is continuing to get booked for cinema screenings which is really great.
We are also in talks with many countries about the film being released: its now available in Australia and will be soon in Italy as well as across many other European countries: We are also confident now there will be a major release in the USA spring next year.

As ever the way our film will gain wider interest is by all of our fans and supporters telling people about it so please continue to do that:

More news soon but meanwhile keep a watch on our Facebook site.

Brilliant to have a sold out screening in Birmingham last night at the UK’s oldest cinema, The Electric…

Great response to the film from the crowd, laughter and solemn silence at times! and a really good QA which included the wonderful Jimmy from the legendary record store The Diskery.

Loads of screenings coming up in the next few weeks so here’s hoping for lots of sold out events.

The film is going from strength to strength with lots of national and regional press interest:

We have featured on Radio 6 recently.

We are also getting lots of screenings up and down the UK and from overseas: so do check out the screenings list as there may be one near you coming up.

Sales continue to grow as people go to their indie record shop to buy one or from on line: please keep spreading the word

So it does seem our little film has caught a real wave of interest in both the resurgence of vinyl and in our much loved local indie record shops.

Thanks for all the support and to keep connected join our facebook group or check back to the website regularly

We have uploaded a new clip into videos ” do record shops have a future?” to help keep the conversation going around the film: check it out:

Do you think record stores have a future??

Watch the clip: get the film: visit a record shop and get in on the conversation

Loads of screenings now lined up with more to come: keep checking the screenings part of the website: media interested continues to grow with Radio 6 picking up on the story and a great review due out in Q music:

The social media platforms continue to grow with great feedback about the film: small independent films like ours need lots of ” noise” and that comes from our fans talking to one another and all their mates about the film so please keep doing that…

Getting some great feedback about the film on various websites and lots of magazine articles and reviews primed. Lots of work going into the official world premier Sept 5th in London and the official release on Sept 10th.. v v exciting if you haven’t seen official trailer yet click here!
